rust-pdf is free and open-source software, released under the MIT License.
You may use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense and sell copies
of the software, including in commercial and closed-source products. The only
condition is that the copyright notice and permission notice are included in all
copies or substantial portions of the software. The full text is in the
LICENSE file of the source repository.
2. Every feature free
There is no paid tier, no feature gating. PDF/A, digital signatures and PAdES, encryption, accessibility (PDF/UA), redaction and page rendering are all included.
3. Third-party components
Bundled assets and dependencies keep their own permissive licenses and are
attributed in the NOTICE and LICENSES.md files of the
source repository. The software's core is written in Rust; rust-pdf is an
independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by
the Rust Foundation or the Rust Project.
4. Warranty disclaimer
The software is provided "AS IS", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the software is error-free or that its output will meet every regulatory requirement in every jurisdiction; you are responsible for validating output for your use case.
5. Limitation of liability
In no event shall the authors or copyright holders be liable for any claim, damages or other liability, whether in an action of contract, tort or otherwise, arising from, out of or in connection with the software or the use or other dealings in the software.
