Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your purchase and use of the rust-pdf software library and related services (the "Software") provided by [Legal Entity Name] ("we", "us", "rust-pdf"), accessible at rustpdf.dev. By purchasing a license or using the Software you agree to these Terms.
1. The Software & license tiers
rust-pdf is a PDF library distributed as a Rust core with language bindings. Basic generation features are available free of charge. Corporate features (PDF/A archival output, digital signatures and PAdES, encryption, and accessibility / PDF/UA) require a valid, paid license key (the "License Key").
2. License grant
Upon payment we issue you a cryptographically signed License Key that unlocks the corporate features for the term purchased (the "Term", typically 12 months). Subject to these Terms, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide license to use the Software in your own applications during the Term.
Unless a separate written agreement states otherwise, one License Key authorizes use within a single organization. OEM, redistribution, and embedding the Software in a product you distribute to third parties require a separate OEM license — contact [email protected].
3. Restrictions
- You may not share, resell, sublicense, or publish your License Key.
- You may not circumvent, disable, or tamper with the license verification.
- You may not remove proprietary notices from the Software.
The Software's core is written in the Rust programming language; rust-pdf is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Rust Foundation or the Rust Project.
4. Term, renewal & expiry
License Keys carry an expiry date. For subscription purchases, the license renews automatically each Term and a new key is issued on each successful renewal until you cancel. When a key expires, corporate features stop producing output and return a license error; basic generation continues to work. You may cancel a subscription at any time, effective at the end of the current Term.
5. Payment
Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. Prices are shown at checkout and exclusive of any applicable taxes unless stated. You authorize us (via Stripe) to charge your payment method for the purchase and any renewals.
6. Refunds
Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, incorporated by reference.
7. Intellectual property
The Software and all related intellectual property are and remain owned by us and our licensors. These Terms grant a license to use, not a sale of, the Software.
8. Warranty disclaimer
The Software is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Software is error-free or that its output will meet every regulatory requirement in every jurisdiction; you are responsible for validating output for your use case.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or related to the Software or these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. We will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your license if you materially breach these Terms (including the restrictions in Section 3). On termination, your right to use the corporate features ends.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms; material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [Jurisdiction, e.g. Brazil / State], without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of [Venue].
